45 UK Police Force Postcodes and Grid References

An instant download containing all UK Police Force Postcodes (circa. 1,791,294) and Postcode Grid References.  The download covers all Police Forces within Northern Ireland, Scotland, Wales and England and shows the police authority within each, e.g. Thames Valley, Avon & Somerset, Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire.

The UK has a mix of regional Police Forces. In England and Wales, there are 43 territorial police forces (39 in England and 4 in Wales). Scotland has a single police force for the entire country (Police Scotland), as does Northern Ireland (PSNI).  

Postcodes within the file are updated quarterly to ensure they remain current, and our clients receive an inclusive complete file refresh every three months as part of the service for no additional fee.

A link to the Police Postcodes file, is emailed upon receipt of payment.

You’ll receive one compressed file (ZIP), that opens into three Comma Separated Variable (CSV) product files.  CSV files will open within most software applications including but not limited to Excel, Word, Notepad, Access, SQL etc.   Because the Police Force File contains over 1,791,294 postcodes, we have split the product into a File (1) & (2).  File (3) contains a list of retired postcodes that Royal Mail have taken out of circulation.  If you require the data supplied in another format then we will be more than happy to try and accommodate you, where reasonable to do so, at no extra cost.

Coverage

The Police Force Postcodes file covers England, Scotland, Northern Ireland (comprehensive coverage for each of the 45 Police Forces).  The UK has a mix of regional Police Forces. In England and Wales, there are 43 territorial police forces (39 in England and 4 in Wales). Scotland has a single police force for the entire country (Police Scotland), as does Northern Ireland (PSNI). The file contains circa. 1,791,294 postcodes. Each postcode has been assigned to the relevant Police Force Authority e.g. Thames Valley, Avon & Somerset, Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire etc.

Licensing

Downloads are supplied as licensed products, allowing unlimited reuse of the file content for 12 months.    You may cancel the licence at any time without penalty.  The licence fee you pay covers the considerable effort taken to compile and update the product, including our manual correction and verification, and finally verification against the latest Royal Mail and Ordnance Survey databases.  Licence options include Single User, Multiple User and Organisation use.     On or before the 11th month, we will write to you, offering to extend the licence for a further 12 months or to let it expire.

Updates

We have developed internal quality processes to help ensure the data you purchase is fit for purpose.  If you are for some reason not satisfied with the data or our work, we offer you a no quibble refund. As part of the fee paid, we will automatically send you a full product file refresher every 3 months for no additional fee.  This will ensure the postcodes and associated content remains current.
