Postcode Populations & Households Counts (England & Wales)

This instant download contains circa. 1,048,576 English & Welsh Postcodes, aligned to Population and Household numbers.   Counts are based on addresses / delivery points featured on Royal Mail’s Postcode Address File (PAF), filtered to show England & Wales postcodes.  Counts within the file are updated quarterly to ensure they remain current, and our clients receive an inclusive complete refresh every three months as part of the service, for no additional fee.

You’ll receive a Comma Separated Variable (CSV) file listing every UK Postcode including the last two digits of the postcode (Postman’s Walk – example UB7 7EB).  The file is maintained monthly.  Within the file you’ll receive a population count and a number of households count for each postcode in the UK.

Applications

The postcodes data is ideal for establishing the number of people that live in a postcode and or working out the average population by the number of households within that postcode.  Great for analysis, campaign targeting etc.

Output

The Population / Household to Postcode file is by default emailed at the time of order using a secure download link delivery method.   The data is supplied as a Comma Separated Variable (CSV) delimited text file using double quotes by default.  This file format will open very easily using almost any software application including but not limited to Excel, Word, Notepad, Access, SQL etc. If you require the data supplied in another format then we will be more than happy to accommodate you at no extra cost.

Licensing

Downloads are supplied as licensed products, allowing unlimited reuse of the file content for 12 months.    You may cancel the licence at any time without penalty.  The licence fee you pay covers the considerable effort taken to compile, and update the product, including our manual correction and verification, updates, and finally, verification against the latest Royal Mail and if applicable Ordnance Survey databases. On or before the 11th month, we will write to you, offering to extend the licence for a further 12 months or to let it expire.
